Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a bilateral meeting on Wednesday (Feburary 12, 2025) at the Presidential Palace in Bogor, West Java. The meeting between Prabowo and Erdogan resulted in 13 agreements spanning multiple sectors, marking a new chapter in the strategic partnership between the two nations.

“This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Türkiye,” Prabowo said during the meeting, as reported by Detik. “However, our ties go back much further to the era of the Ottoman Empire, creating a deep historical connection between our nations.”

For the first time, Indonesia and Türkiye held a High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council Meeting, a step that Prabowo believes will solidify their partnership. “Indonesia has few regular bilateral mechanisms at the head-of-state level, making this meeting particularly significant,” he added.
