Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel – The salary of Pertamina Patra Niaga’s President Director, Riva Siahaan (RS), has come under public scrutiny after Indonesia’s Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) named him a suspect in Pertamina corruption case. Alongside Riva Siahaan, several other directors in Pertamina have also been charged by the Attorney General’s Office.

The salaries and benefits of Pertamina’s directors are regulated under Indonesia’s State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Ministerial Regulation No. PER-13/MBU/09/2021, which outlines the remuneration framework for directors, commissioners, and supervisory boards within BUMN.

Pertamina’s board of directors receive several components of benefits including base salary, allowances, facilities, and performance-based incentives or bonuses.

Additional Benefits for Pertamina Directors

In addition to their base salary, Pertamina Patra Niaga directors are entitled to various allowances, including:

  • Holiday bonus (THR): Up to one month’s salary per year.
  • Housing allowance: Equivalent to 85% of the president director’s housing allowance.
  • Post-employment insurance: Premiums covered by the company, up to 25% of the annual salary.
  • Official vehicle and health insurance: Provided either as direct coverage or reimbursement for medical expenses.
  • Legal assistance: Available when required in an official capacity.

The directors also qualify for performance-based bonuses, known as long-term incentives (LTI), which reward profitability and company performance. If the company meets its financial targets, these bonuses are granted as additional compensation.

Pertamina Director Salary

According to Pertamina Patra Niaga’s 2023 financial report, total compensation for key management personnel—including the board of director and commissioners amounted to Rp312 billion ($19.1 million)

In 2023, the company had seven commissioners and seven directors. If compensation were distributed evenly, each member would receive approximately Rp21.8 billion ($1.36 million) per year or approximately Rp1.81 billion per month.

With such a substantial salary and benefit, the position of President Director at Pertamina subsidiary ranks among the highest-paying roles within Indonesia’s state-owned enterprises (BUMN). However, despite the lucrative earnings, Riva Siahaan is now entangled in a corruption case and faces legal proceedings.
