Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Integrated shipbuilding company PT Armada Bangun Samudra (PT ABS) has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability by restoring coastal areas affected by erosion, in accordance with government directives and Indonesian environmental laws.

The company’s restoration efforts focused on rehabilitating eroded shoreline areas within legally designated boundaries, demonstrating what it calls a strict adherence to national regulations.

“We are deeply committed to protecting the environment. PT ABS will not exceed the land area permitted for restoration as outlined by the law,” said PT ABS Head of Operations Raden Harlan Maulana.

In addition to its ongoing restoration efforts, PT ABS is also pushing for the expedited approval of its Marine Spatial Utilization Activity Compliance (PKKPRL) permit from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP).

The company emphasized that these actions reflect its full compliance with all applicable Indonesian laws and environmental regulations.

PT ABS Expands Ship Services

PT Armada Bangun Samudra (PT ABS), located on Jalan Raya Salira Indah in Pulo Ampel, Serang Regency, Banten Province, is a shipyard company that provides high-quality services in shipbuilding, fleet expansion, and vessel repair. The company also offers docking services, transferring ships from seawater or rivers to specialized docks for maintenance and repair operations.

To remain competitive in the shipbuilding sector, PT ABS is expanding its services beyond traditional tugboats and barges. The company is now also capable of constructing and repairing other vessel types such as tankers and Landing Craft Transports (LCTs), which are often used for transporting heavy equipment and supporting construction projects.

Since 2021, PT ABS has served as a trusted partner in vessel construction. By 2025, the company aims to broaden its business scope with a stronger focus on ship repair and maintenance, leveraging its expertise to ensure optimal vessel performance.

Backed by integrity and innovation, PT ABS continues to deliver sustainable solutions to support the advancement of Indonesia’s maritime sector.

“With high traffic in the Serang, Banten area, the repair and docking business has strong potential,” said Head of Operations Raden Harlan Maulana. “Demand is rising, and the outlook is promising.”

PT ABS Eyes Business Growth

PT Armada Bangun Samudra (PT ABS) is looking to scale up its business operations by fully optimizing its current 4-hectare leased shipyard in Serang, Banten. The company sees strong growth potential in Indonesia’s maritime and shipbuilding sectors and aims to increase its operational capacity.

“We’re committed to making the most of the land we’re leasing, even though space is tight,” said Head of Operations Raden Harlan Maulana. “The current limitations impact our business volume, but looking ahead, we’re optimistic that PT ABS will unlock even greater potential.”

PT ABS Prioritizing Groups and Clients

Established to support the operational needs of its affiliated shipping and mining groups, PT ABS places a strong emphasis on quality and collaboration to ensure customer satisfaction.

The company plays a crucial role in helping its parent group optimize maritime logistics, particularly in supporting the transport of mining materials.

“Our main goal is to meet the needs of our mining affiliates by maximizing the capabilities of the shipping companies whose fleets are built by PT ABS,” Harlan said. “At the same time, we welcome repair service requests from third parties as well.”
