Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to attend the 46th ASEAN Summit, held from May 26 to 27. The high-level meeting brought together heads of state from ASEAN member nations to discuss the region’s strategic direction.
At the 46th ASEAN Summit themed “Inclusivity and Sustainability,” President Prabowo Subianto is set to deliver remarks during the plenary session, focusing on ASEAN’s future direction.
The session, officially opened by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who currently holds the ASEAN chairmanship for 2025.
Leaders gathered at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to address key issues, including regional integration, external partnerships, and ASEAN’s long-term vision.
In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Anwar noted that this year marks a decade since the formation of the ASEAN Community.
“At the same time, we are adopting a 20-year vision that will require firm commitment and collective resolve,” he stated.
Asean Summit Agenda
According to Presidential Secretariat spokesperson Yusuf Permana, President Prabowo schedule includes the plenary session, a retreat session, and meetings with representatives from ASEAN’s parliament, youth, and business sectors.
He is also expected to hold bilateral talks with other ASEAN leaders on strategic regional and global matters. President Prabowo is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with several partner nations on the sidelines of the event.
In addition to the main summit, President Subianto is set to attend the 16th BIMP-EAGA Summit, the 2nd ASEAN-GCC Summit, the ASEAN-GCC-China meeting, and the 16th IMT-GT Summit.

“These meetings represent a critical opportunity to reinforce ASEAN’s central role amid global uncertainty,” Yusuf said, Sunday (May 25).
Several senior Indonesian officials are accompanying the president, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Agriculture Minister Amran Sulaiman, Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani, Trade Minister Budi Santoso, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
President Prabowo’s presence at the 46th ASEAN Summit underscores Indonesia’s continued commitment to strengthening cooperation and maintaining stability across the region.
