Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — PT Migas Utama Jabar (MUJ), a state-owned energy company based in West Java, has issued an official statement in response to an ongoing legal investigation involving its subsidiary, PT Energi Negeri Mandiri (ENM).
The case centers on allegations of corruption in the procurement of goods and services between ENM and PT Serba Dinamik Indonesia (SDI) during 2022 and 2023. The Bandung District Attorney’s Office has named three individuals as suspects in the case.
Among those arrested is BT, who served as President Director of MUJ from 2015 to 2023. The two others are NW, current Director of SDI since 2008, and RAP, who led ENM from 2020 to 2022.
In a statement released Monday, June 23, 2024, PT MUJ said it respects the ongoing legal process and urged the public to uphold the presumption of innocence.
“The company is fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities by providing all necessary information in accordance with applicable regulations, in order to support a fair and transparent legal process,” the statement read.
The Bandung District Attorney’s Office launched the investigation in connection with unpaid receivables owed to PT Energi Negeri Mandiri (ENM) stemming from its business partnership with PT Serba Dinamik Indonesia between 2020 and 2022.
“The Company had established an Asset Recovery Team and taken necessary steps to recover the company’s assets. The ongoing investigation is expected to accelerate the asset recovery process,” the company stated.
To facilitate the legal process and improve governance, MUJ appointed a new board of directors at PT ENM in 2023. The company emphasized that this move was also aimed at ensuring continued business operations.
As a regional energy enterprise owned by the West Java Provincial Government (BUMD), MUJ reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local development.
The company is currently undergoing a transformation into an energy transition holding company, with a focus on optimizing energy resources and expanding public and industrial access to clean energy across West Java.
