Jakarta, InfoPublik – PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has contributed to DKI Jakarta’s integrated tidal flood control through the construction of coastal safety on the coast of Jakarta Bay phase six package two, which is part of the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) Project.
“It is the construction of a coastal safety structure using spun pile material with a diameter of 800 millimeters (mm) and a length of 24 meters (m). Located in Cengkareng Drain, Kamal Muara and Kapuk Muara Villages, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta, the embankment building has a length of 450 meters on the right back embankment and 465 meters on the left back embankment,” explained Brantas Abipraya Operations Director I, Muhammad Toha Fauzi, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (9/5/2023).
Toha said that the construction of the coastal safety structure was an effort to protect against the threat of tidal flooding which increased due to land subsidence and sea level rise through strengthening and elevating coastal embankments.
In the embankment project, Brantas Abipraya worked on a number of parts, including: preparatory work, pile work, K-225 capping beam structure work, red soil embankment work, other work, and K3 construction implementation work.
“The estimated construction time is from December 2022 and is targeted for completion in October 2023. For now the progress has reached 24 percent,” explained Operations Director I Brantas Abipraya.
Toha further said, in the construction of Coastal Security on the Coast of Jakarta Bay Phase six Package two, precisely in Cengkareng Drain, this State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) company uses spun piles (round) with a diameter of 800 centimeters (cm) and a length of 24 m with a total need of 949 rods with CT Join for fastening between spun piles.
The source of funds for this project comes from the State Sharia Securities (SBSN) Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
“In addition to overcoming flooding due to tidal floods, the existence of this embankment can also contribute to reducing economic and social losses of all Jakarta people due to tidal floods,” said Toha.
“Not only that, the NCICD serves as a clear boundary for land development in the capital’s coastal areas,” he added.
Operation Director I Brantas Abipraya hopes that this embankment can contribute to retaining sea water due to tidal waves or tidal floods, minimizing losses both economically and socially caused by tidal floods, and providing clear boundaries for land development in coastal areas (Regional Arrangement).
