Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Indonesia Minecraft building team has been crowned world champion in the international build competition hosted by the MrBeast channel, marking a significant achievement for the country’s creative community on the global stage.
The contest featured nine countries, including Brazil, Germany, Thailand, and Indonesia. Participants were given two weeks to construct a city or a representation of their home country inside Minecraft.
Indonesia stood out with a sweeping Nusantara-themed creation — a “mini Indonesia” spanning islands from Sabang to Merauke. The build showcased landmarks and cultural elements from across the archipelago, including a detailed reconstruction of Borobudur, diverse cultural motifs, iconic wildlife, spiritual sites, statues of national heroes, and a Garuda emblem rendered with striking precision.
When YouTuber MrBeast first toured the Indonesian creation, he was greeted by a massive Minecraft-scale Borobudur, one of the centerpieces that immediately captured his attention. From above, the entire build resembled the outline of Indonesia’s island chain, a design choice that judges said set the team apart from its competitors.
Judges praised the project for its depth of cultural exploration — a level of detail rarely seen in international Minecraft competitions.
The race for the top spot remained tight until the final scoring. Indonesia secured 36 points, narrowly edging out Thailand with 35 points, while Brazil placed third with 34 points.
The victory also spotlighted Indonesian Minecraft YouTuber Azrealon, who played a key role in the ambitious project and has since drawn international attention for his creativity.
