Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Indonesia claimed victory at the FIFAe World Cup 2024 in the console category after defeating Brazil in the final held in Saudi Arabia on Thursday night, December 12.
Represented by esports athletes Rizky Faidan and Elga Cahya, Indonesia secured the title by winning two consecutive matches in the best-of-three series.
In the first match, Indonesia trailed 0-1 before leveling the score in the second half and clinching a 2-1 win with a last-minute goal.
In the second match, Rizky Faidan and Elga Cahya started strong, scoring two goals in the first half. Brazil managed to reduce the deficit in the second half but failed to find another goal, sealing Indonesia’s victory.
Striking Performance
Indonesia’s journey to the championship was hard-fought. Backed by Rizky Faidan, Elga Cahya, and Akbar Paudie, the team advanced through the group stage and knockout rounds to reach the final.
Drawn into Group A, Indonesia competed against Malaysia, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, South Korea, France, England, and India. The team finished second in the group standings, defeating Poland, Malaysia, the Netherlands, England, South Korea, and India, with their only loss coming against Spain.
In the quarterfinals, Indonesia edged out Morocco in a three-match series, winning 2-1. The team then faced Turkey in the semifinals, securing a decisive victory in two straight matches to book a spot in the final against Brazil.
Global Esports Trophy
The win adds to Indonesia’s stellar performance this year, as Rizky Faidan, Elga Cahya, and Akbar Paudie also triumphed at the AFC eAsian Cup 2024 in Qatar last February.
The FIFAe World Cup 2024 console title marks Indonesia second consecutive global esports trophy. In September 2024, Indonesia secured the FIFAe World Cup Football Manager title.’

In addition to their console success, Indonesia also fielded Philip Franc in the mobile category of the FIFAe World Cup 2024. Franc advanced to the quarterfinals but was ultimately defeated by a Thai competitor.
Therefore Indonesia victories in the FIFAe World Cup 2024 underscore the nation’s growing dominance in global esports, particularly in football simulation games.
