Whoosh Karawang Station Begin Services on December 24, Here’s The Schedule

Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Whoosh high speed railway Karawang Station is set to officially commence passenger services on December 24, 2024, marking an enhancement in transportation services ahead of the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holiday season.

Eva Chairunnisa, General Manager of Corporate Secretary at KCIC, stated that the station, which has been operational since October 2023 for technical operations, will now cater to passenger boarding and disembarking.

“The preparation process for opening Karawang Station was directly reviewed by the Vice President, who expressed strong support, recognizing that the station will significantly enhance accessibility for people seeking fast and comfortable travel,” Eva said in a statement on Friday, December 20, asreported by DetikFinance, .

Initial Schedule and Routes

In its initial phase, Whoosh Karawang Station will serve 20 train schedules daily, consisting of 10 departures from Halim Station and 10 from Padalarang/Tegalluar Summarecon Station. The schedules are as follows:

Halim-Karawang Departures:

The Halim-Karawang route will take only 15 minutes, compared to approximately one hour by car. Meanwhile, the Karawang-Padalarang route will take 20 minutes, significantly shorter than the 1.5 to 2 hours required by road.

Ticketing and Final Preparations

Eva added that KCIC is currently finalizing the ticketing system for the new route. Passengers are advised to await official announcements regarding ticket sales procedures.

“The opening of Whoosh Karawang Station on December 24, 2024, represents KCIC’s commitment to providing optimal services. This phased launch ensures operational and service aspects are well-managed, with infrastructure, facilities, and intermodal integration ready to offer a seamless travel experience,” Eva concluded.

The opening is expected to boost regional connectivity and offer a faster, more efficient transportation option for commuters and holiday travelers alike.
