Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — The Directorate General of Immigration under Indonesia’s Ministry of Law and Human Rights reported a Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) contribution of Rp9 trillion (approximately $570 million) to the state treasury in 2024. This figure exceeded the initial target of Rp6 trillion ($380 million).

The largest contribution came from visa services, generating Rp5.03 trillion ($320 million), followed by passport services at Rp2.49 trillion ($160 million) and other immigration services contributing Rp1.4 trillion ($90 million).

“Compared to 2023, PNBP in 2024 grew by 18.39% overall, with visa services seeing a 23.8% increase and passport services rising by 18.5%,” said Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Kemenimipas) Agus Andrianto in a press statement on Friday, January 3rd, as reported by CNN Indonesia.

Visa Policies and Digitalization Drive Growth

Agus attributed the revenue increase to the Visa on Arrival (VoA) policy, now available to 97 countries and specific entities. Previously, many of these countries were eligible for Visa-Free Visits (BVK), limited to 30 days.

In addition, Agus highlighted ongoing efforts in digitalizing immigration services, which have significantly improved efficiency and streamlined business processes.

“This achievement reflects the dedication of immigration staff nationwide. Many officers worked tirelessly during weekends and national holidays to ensure smooth services, particularly at airports, seaports, border checkpoints, and passport service units,” Agus noted.

Innovation and Security Remain Priorities

Agus emphasized that service digitalization, continuous innovation, and the VoA policy played critical roles in achieving this milestone.

The Directorate General of Immigration also serves as a key player in maintaining national security while acting as a facilitator for national economic development and fostering an investment-friendly environment.

“In line with our ‘Guard and Guide’ philosophy, we are committed not only to enhancing immigration services but also to upholding law enforcement measures. Only beneficial foreign nationals will be permitted to enter and stay in Indonesia,” Agus stated.

He concluded by reaffirming the Directorate’s commitment to continued innovation and efficiency improvements, aiming for even higher Non-Tax State Revenue achievements in the coming years.
