Hannover, Indonesia Sentinel – Hannover Messe 2023 is an important event to showcase the progress of digital transformation in Indonesia, including from the automotive industry sector. The world’s largest industrial technology exhibition also shows that Indonesia’s position has been recognized as one of the world’s new economic powers and global manufacturing players.
“The application of industry 4.0 in the manufacturing industry sector is proven to increase productivity and efficiency, which in turn can accelerate industrial competitiveness and lead to encouraging national economic growth,” said the Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) of the Ministry of Industry, Taufiek Bawazier when visiting the automotive component industry booth at Hannover Messe 2023, Germany, Monday (17/4) local time.
One of the national automotive component companies participating as a co-exhibitor of Hannover Messe 2023 is PT Akebono Brake Astra Indonesia. The company brings the latest technology that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to be applied in the quality inspection process of making four-wheeled motor vehicle brakes.
“AI Machine is used for the final inspection process of brake pads, where the machine can check product quality more quickly and efficiently, minimizing human error and increasing accuracy,” said Director of PT Astra Otoparts Tbk, Yusak Kristian Solaeman. In addition, this AI machine can predict cracks that may occur in the product, so that the inspection team can take preventive action before the product is marketed.
PT Akebono Brake Astra Indonesia also displayed a Manufacturing Dashboard that is used to help manufacturing teams monitor the production process in real-time and provide information related to production performance, including the number of products produced, production time, and production costs. “This makes it easier for companies to make the right business decisions and identify areas that need improvement,” added Yusak.
Previously, when inaugurating the Indonesian Pavilion at Hannover Messe 2023, Indonesian President Joko Widodo invited the audience to visit the Indonesian Pavilion to see Indonesia as a land of opportunity and as a future manufacturing hub. The Indonesian Pavilion is specially designed to follow the shape of a traditional Indonesian ship, the Pinisi Ship.
