Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Karen Julieth Ojeda Rodriguez, a 23-year-old Colombian woman known as “The Doll,” has been arrested for her alleged involvement in multiple gang-related murders, including the ambush of her ex-boyfriend. Authorities claim Rodriguez worked for the Los de la M gang and led a group of hitmen responsible for spreading fear and violence in the region.
Nicknamed for her striking appearance, Rodriguez allegedly orchestrated the July 23 killing of her ex-boyfriend, Deyvy Jesus, in Piedecuesta. Police say she lured him into a meeting under the pretense of resolving a financial dispute. When he arrived, two men on a motorcycle fatally shot him in an ambush reportedly arranged by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was apprehended alongside two accomplices: Paula Valentina Joya Rueda, known as “Fat Hitwoman,” and a man identified as “Leopoldo.” Authorities seized a revolver and a 9mm pistol during the arrests and are investigating whether the weapons were linked to other murders.
The Doll: Escalating Gang Violence
Barrancabermeja, long plagued by gang activity, has seen heightened violence attributed to Los de la M. Law enforcement officials describe Rodriguez as a key figure in the gang’s criminal operations. Lt. Col. Mauricio Herrera of the Magdalena Medio police stated, “With the capture of alias La Muñeca and alias Leopoldo, a period of calm has been created in the region.”
Despite the arrests, the area remains volatile, with Bucaramanga, a nearby city of 1.3 million people, reporting a homicide every three days.

Next Steps
Officials have not yet announced the charges against Rodriguez and her accomplices, but her suspected role in leading a group of assassins has placed her at the center of ongoing investigations into the Los de la M gang’s activities. Authorities are hopeful that the arrests will help curb the cycle of violence in the region.
