Bandung, IndonesiaSentinel.com — Congo has bought 5 units of the Indonesian made aircraft, the N-219 Nurtanio. This aircraft, N-219 Nurtanio, is the work of PT. Dirgantara Indonesia, which was just introduced some time ago.
This was confirmed by the Minister of Nasional Development Planning (PPN)/Head of Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa, during the High-Level Forum on Multi Stakeholders Partnership (HLF MSP) event in Nusa Dua, Bali, Selasa (3/9/2024).
“I witnessed the purchase of 5 units of N-219 aircraft from the Hong Kong based company to be used in Congo, which is good to see,” he said.
According to Suharso, this agreement was one of the concrete outcomes of the meeting that took place from 1-3 September 2024.
“We’re promoting our product in countries like Africa, in hope so they can secure their own financing,” he explained.
On the same occasion, Suharso added, the Congolese government is interested in learning from the Indonesian planning process, as Indonesia responded with an open arm to share the knowledge for future development.
“They want to learn how to line up plans, and are amazed by how Indonesia got to where it is today,” said Suharso, also stating that Indonesia would also like to learn from Congo for their natural resources management.
