Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Indonesia’s sovereign wealth management body, Danantara Indonesia, is setting its sights on a $5 billion (approximately Rp81 trillion) investment target for 2025, focusing on eight key sectors including renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and healthcare.
The announcement was made by Danantara Managing Director Arief Budiman during the “Sumitronomics National Symposium and the Direction of Indonesia’s Economy” held in Jakarta on Tuesday (June 3), as reported by Antara.
“We are aiming for around $5 billion in investments within the remaining six to nine months of 2025,” Arief stated.
Arief revealed that the investment would focusing on eight strategic sectors identified by Danantara including:
- Mineral resources and downstream processing
- Renewable energy
- Digital infrastructure
- Healthcare
- Financial services
- Infrastructure and utilities
- Industrial estates
- Food, as part of the broader food and agriculture sector
This year, Arief projects that Danantara Indonesia will receive approximately Rp120 trillion (around USD 7.5 billion) in dividends from state-owned enterprises (SOEs). The investment management agency aims to maximize the value of these dividends by reinvesting them into key national sectors.
“Our expectation is that this year’s contribution will be around Rp120 trillion. The focus now is on how we can enhance the value of these dividends through strategic reinvestment,” Arief said.
The targeted sectors are selected based on several criteria, including their potential impact on the national economy, expected returns, and overall investment opportunity.

Beyond managing dividends, Danantara is also tasked with attracting co-investments—capital, capabilities, and competitive advantages that Indonesia may lack domestically but urgently needs.
The fund’s broader objective, according to Arief, is to consolidate SOE assets, optimize existing resources, and channel investment into projects that can drive sustainable economic development and long-term value creation.
With its ambitious 2025 investment target, Danantara Indonesia aims to play a pivotal role in accelerating national development, while positioning the country as a competitive and sustainable investment destination in Southeast Asia.
