Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — A Delta Airlines plane crash upon landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday (February 17). The plane flips upside downs, injuring 18 passengers, while no fatalities reported.
The aircraft, operated by Delta subsidiary Endeavor Air, was a CRJ-900 flying from Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Toronto, Canada. According to airport authorities, Delta Flight 4819 skidded off the runway and flipped over at approximately 3:30 p.m. local time.
Emergency response teams immediately arrived at the scene to rescue and evacuate passengers trapped inside the aircraft.
Injuries Reported, No Fatalities Confirmed
According to reports from Al Jazeera, the Delta Airlines plane was carrying 80 people including 76 passengers and four crew members when the crash occurred. At least 18 people were injured, including three in critical condition: a young child, a 60-year-old man, and a woman in her 40s.
Emergency responders transported the injured to hospitals via helicopter and ambulance, AFP reported. While the remaining passengers were inflicted with minor injury and has received necessary treatment.
Investigation Underway
The cause of the crash remains unclear while authorities continues investigating the scene. Officials noted that the failed landing occurred amid severe winter weather conditions.
Over the weekend, Toronto had accumulated nearly 8.7 inches (22 cm) of snow, adding to previous snowfall from the week before. Environment Canada reported wind speeds of approximately 29 mph, with gusts reaching 38 mph at the time of the incident.

Canada’s Transportation Safety Board and Ontario’s Peel Regional Police are investigating the incident, while the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has also deployed investigators to assist, according to CNN Indonesia.
Flight Disruptions at Toronto Pearson
The crash prompted Toronto Pearson International Airport to temporarily close all five of its runways, causing flight delays and diversions to nearby airports. The two runways affected by the crash are expected to remain closed for several days as authorities continue their investigation.
