Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Minister of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait has sought support from Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara), to back housing development projects.
The request was made during a meeting between Maruarar and Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani at the official residence of the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, a position also held by Rosan, on Tuesday (April 1, 2025).
“We will engage in extensive collaboration and request support from Mr. Rosan as the head of Danantara,” Maruarar told reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Maruarar emphasized that housing development could significantly drive economic growth by involving various industries.
“Housing development stimulates the economy on a large scale. It engages numerous industries, from flooring, sand, and cement to labor and even small businesses,” he explained.
Danantara’s Response
The Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) was established by President Prabowo Subianto to manages state-owned enterprise (SOE) assets in Indonesia, transforming them into investments for various national projects.
Danantara has expressed openness to supporting the government’s ambitious plan to build three million homes under the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP).

CEO Rosan Roeslani stated that the organization is open to proposals and discussions with ministries, institutions, and the private sector. However, he emphasized that all projects must meet the criteria established by the sovereign wealth fund (SWF).
“The key requirement is to fulfill the criteria and parameters we set. These include return on investment, job creation, and contributions to Indonesia’s industrialization,” Rosan stated.
The three-million-home program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto is seen as a major opportunity to boost Indonesia’s economy.
Rosan affirmed that all aspects of the project would be thoroughly analyzed and evaluated to ensure Danantara’s involvement would yield positive economic and social impacts.
“We will conduct a comprehensive and thorough analysis and evaluation of all factors,” he concluded regarding Danantara’s potential role in the housing program.
As the government pushes forward with its ambitious housing plan, collaboration with key stakeholders like Danantara will be crucial in ensuring the program’s success and its broader impact on Indonesia’s economic growth.
