Dubai, Indonesia Sentinel – Indonesia through the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy / Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Kemenparekraf / Baparekraf) is ready to attract more foreign tourists to visit the country through the largest international tourism exchange in the Middle East region “Arabian Travel Market (ATM) Dubai 2023” which takes place at the Dubai World Trade Center, from May 1 to 4, 2023.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Cabaparekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, in his statement, in Jakarta, Monday (1/5/2023) explained that through ATM Dubai 2023, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy provides information on the latest developments in Indonesian tourism which continues to strive to build better services in welcoming PPLN (Foreign Travelers) and a number of relaxation of rules for PPLN to enter Indonesia after the pandemic.
“We hope that Indonesia’s active participation in ATM Dubai 2023 can increase the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia, which in turn can contribute to increasing the country’s foreign exchange earnings and increasing employment,” said Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno.
Indonesia’s participation in ATM Dubai is one of the active efforts to market Indonesian tourism in the international arena. The Middle East region itself is an area that is included in the list of Indonesia’s main markets which is very strategic.
“And we are targeting transactions obtained at ATM Dubai 2023 can reach 55 thousand pax with a focus on improving four aspects, namely experience, quality, sustainability, and luxury tourism,” Sandi said.
Indonesia’s participation in this exhibition cannot be separated from the role of Indonesian tourism industry players who carry out collaborative marketing.
“I also really appreciate the homeland tourism players who have worked together to raise Indonesian tourism,” Sandi said.
Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, revealed a number of special strategies prepared by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy together with the industry that appeared at ATM Dubai 2023.
“In addition to the theme ‘Visit Indonesia Year 2023: Explore Our New Wonderful Destinations’, our promotion will not be separated from two things. Namely sustainable tourism and quality tourism in line with current world tourism trends,” Made said.
At the ATM Dubai 2023 exhibition, Kemenparekraf conducted two main activities. First B2B (Business to Business) meeting by bringing together the Indonesian tourism industry (sellers) with potential buyers. In the world of tourism business, direct meetings between sellers and buyers are an important milestone for the existence of Indonesian tourism in the world tourism industry competition.
Second, direct meetings with wholesalers, OTAs (Online Travel Agents), and international airlines to improve integrated cooperation and joint promotion related to Indonesian tourism. Especially with regard to increasing seat capacity and flight frequency to Indonesia.
Also present at the opening of the Indonesian Pavilion on May 1, 2023 were Deputy for Marketing, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Dubai, K. Chandra Negara, and Regional Marketing Director 2, Cecep Rukendi.
