Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Indonesia will launch its new sovereign wealth fund, Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara), on February 24, 2025. President Prabowo Subianto announced the initiative during his keynote address at the World Government Summit, held virtually on February 13, 2025.

The Danantara fund aims to channel Indonesia’s natural resources and state assets into sustainable, high-impact projects in key sectors such as renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, downstream industries, and food production. According to Prabowo, these investments are crucial for reaching the country’s ambitious 8% economic growth target.

The fund will debut with an initial capital of USD 20 billion (approximately IDR 326 trillion). Prabowo emphasized the transformative impact of the initiative: “With this $20 billion initial funding, we plan to launch 15 to 20 multi-billion-dollar projects that will drive significant value for our nation.”

Prabowo also revealed that Danantara is projected to oversee more than USD 900 billion (about IDR 14,715 trillion) in assets under management (AUM), positioning it as a major player in global investment markets. “Our preliminary assessment indicates that Danantara will manage over $900 billion in AUM, marking a significant milestone for Indonesia,” he stated.

Expressing his confidence, Prabowo highlighted the fund’s role in accelerating national economic growth: “I am very optimistic. Indonesia will advance at full speed,” he declared.
