Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Indonesia will launch its new sovereign wealth fund, Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara), on February 24, 2025. President Prabowo Subianto announced the initiative during his keynote address at the World Government Summit, held virtually on February 13, 2025.
The Danantara fund aims to channel Indonesia’s natural resources and state assets into sustainable, high-impact projects in key sectors such as renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, downstream industries, and food production. According to Prabowo, these investments are crucial for reaching the country’s ambitious 8% economic growth target.
The fund will debut with an initial capital of USD 20 billion (approximately IDR 326 trillion). Prabowo emphasized the transformative impact of the initiative: “With this $20 billion initial funding, we plan to launch 15 to 20 multi-billion-dollar projects that will drive significant value for our nation.”
