Jakarta – Indonesia and the World Bank have signed a Cover Letter for Indonesia’s proposal for a pandemic fund. Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the proposal is not only owned by the Ministry of Health but belongs together.
He said after signing the proposal on Wednesday (17/5/2023), his party will send it through the pandemic fund portal. Minister Budi hopes that the pandemic fund grant can be given to Indonesia.
“The signing of Indonesia’s proposal for the pandemic fund marks an important milestone for all of us in the process of developing this proposal and also in our joint efforts to better prepare our country to detect and deal with future pandemics,” said Budi.
The signed proposal is one of the requirements for applying for the pandemic fund to demonstrate the Indonesian government’s collective commitment in dealing with the pandemic. The proposal is an important step for all of us to demonstrate strong health collaboration.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said the signing of Indonesia’s proposal for the pandemic fund is a good moment for preparedness for the upcoming pandemic.
“As a country, we cannot ignore the pandemic. The pandemic fund is part of the preparedness solution in facing the upcoming pandemic,” the Minister said.
World Bank Chief Representative for Indonesia and Timor-Leste Satu Kahkonen said Indonesia is currently trying to utilize the fund for the pandemic, and the government has put together a very good proposal.
