Singapore – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu, at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, Sunday (4/6/2023).
During the meeting, Defence Minister Prabowo expressed his full support for optimizing relations between Indonesia and China to achieve a comprehensive strategic partnership.
“I want RI-China cooperation to be enhanced. Therefore, the establishment of the RI-China 2+2 forum is very important. This forum is expected to significantly increase comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of defense and security in the future,” Defense Minister Prabowo said.
“I hope that the cooperation and friendship between the two countries will continue to be maintained with the spirit of brotherhood and the principle of mutual respect,” Defense Minister Prabowo continued.
According to Defense Minister Prabowo, this is in line with Indonesia’s efforts to always be committed to actively participating in various cooperative efforts to promote regional and global peace and stability.
The relationship between Indonesia and China is strengthened by the annual bilateral meeting forum, namely the Defense Industry Cooperation Meeting (DICM). Several Chinese companies have collaborated with Indonesian companies such as PT LEN, PTDI, and PT DAHANA.
