Bandung, Indonesia Sentinel — A 21-year-old female student from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), identified by her initials AM, was found dead in a pool of blood at the university’s Gymnasium in Setiabudi, Sukasari District, Bandung, on Thursday afternoon, December 26, 2024. The victim’s body was discovered with her head covered by a hijab, adding to the mystery surrounding the incident.
University Confirms Incident
Professor Suhendra, the Head of Public Relations at UPI, confirmed the tragic event. “The incident is true, but the background is still being investigated,” he stated, adding that he is coordinating with UPI’s Occupational Safety and Health (K3) unit.
According to preliminary reports from the K3 team, AM appears to have fallen from the second floor of the Gymnasium building. “Currently, the police are conducting an investigation into the incident, and the body has been sent to RS Sartika Asih for further examination,” Prof. Suhendra added.
Chronology of Events
The incident occurred around 3:00 PM local time. Two witnesses, Fajri and Daffa, who were working on a basketball video project at the gymnasium, discovered AM’s lifeless body. When they reached the second floor, they saw the victim lying face down with blood pooling from her head.

AM, a resident of Kampung Dayamekar in Cikalong Wetan, West Bandung Regency, was a student at UPI. The discovery of her body shocked the campus community, raising questions about how and why the incident happened.
