Bandung, IndonesiaSentinel.com — iPhone 16 series is poised for its official debut soon, with multiple sources, including Bloomberg, suggesting that Apple will hold a launch event for its latest iPhone, AirPods, and Watch models on September 10, 2024. While Apple has not yet confirmed the date, reports indicate that the new iPhones could go on sale as early as September 20, 2024.
Despite the buzz, Apple has yet to respond to these rumors.
Analysts predict that the iPhone 16 series will feature significant upgrades, with Apple reportedly planning the most substantial software update yet. A key highlight is the introduction of ‘Apple Intelligence,’ an artificial intelligence feature poised to compete with AI technologies already present in Android devices, such as Samsung’s ‘Galaxy AI.’
Experts believe that Apple Intelligence could drive strong consumer interest in the iPhone 16, especially as the smartphone market becomes increasingly competitive, particularly in China. Apple’s sales in China, its third-largest market, have dropped 6.5%, a sharper decline than the 2.4% decrease initially forecasted by Visible Alpha, according to Reuters.
During the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, Apple first showcased Apple Intelligence across its native apps, including Siri, and announced the integration of ChatGPT into its products.
Leaked Details on iPhone 16
According to MacRumors, tipster Sonny Dickson recently shared images of what appear to be dummy models of the iPhone 16 regular and Plus variants. These images reveal a notable change in the camera module design, which now features vertically aligned lenses rather than a zigzag pattern. The color options also seem to be more vibrant, with pastel touches.
The leaked images show the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus in white, black, blue, turquoise green, and pink—matching predictions made by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who had earlier suggested these color options.
These new colors suggest that Apple may be opting for a less muted and less desaturated palette for this year’s regular and Plus models. However, there might be differences in the materials used in the final versions compared to the dummy models shown in the leaks.
For comparison, the current iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are available in blue, pink, yellow, green, and black.
The new camera orientation could also hint at the iPhone 16’s potential ability to capture spatial video for use with the Vision Pro headset, a feature currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. This capability may extend to the regular and Plus models in the iPhone 16 lineup.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to feature the A18 chip, 8GB of RAM, a new ‘capture’ button on the right side, and the ‘action button’ that was previously exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro models.
