Bandung, Indonesia Sentinel — JNE has been appointed as the official logistics partner for the 2025 Bandung Design Biennale (BDB), which opens October 3 at Tamansari Laswi City in Bandung. The biennial event was dedicated to celebrating design in all its forms.
BDB serves as a platform for collaboration, innovation, and the exchange of ideas among designers and creative industry players. It also reinforces Bandung’s status as a UNESCO City of Design.
As the official logistics provider, JNE will will support the smooth opertion of logistic at all of the event. The partnership not only highlights JNE’s role in creative industry, but underlining its contribution to bring joy and inspirations for the people.
BDB 2025 carries the theme “Archiving Innovation”, inviting designers, innovators, and the public to reflect on design history, draw inspiration from the past, and shape future visions. The theme emphasizes archives not merely as static artifacts but as a source of knowledge, learning, and new ideas.
“We are excited to collaborate with JNE as our logistics partner,” said Budi Dwi Rahmady, head of the organizing committee. “Their support ensures all logistical needs are met, from statue installations and projectors to this year’s highlight, the giant whale balloon. We hope the event went succesfully and give experience and inspirations for the public. We believed the spirit of ‘Growing Upward’ reflects Bandung’s effort to remain relevant to the global trend and expand its design to internaational levels. While ‘Growing Downward’ reflect commitment to stay rooted in local identity, values, traditions, and culture of Bandung as th design foundations.”
Budi explained, the program will feature a series of design-focused events, including BDG Lights ’25, under the theme “Arranging the Dark” running on October 3–5, which is a large-scale city light festival that will include facade mapping, immersive installations, multimedia exhibits, talks, and live music.
On October 3 to 25 there are Design Archive ‘Ourchetype x BDB 25’, an exhibition exploring design’s impact on civilization through archives, creative processes, and design heritage. There’s also BDG Design Mart ‘Spectrum of Design’, an inclusive design market that showcases a broad spectrum of creative fields while promoting affordable products for students audience.
Other events include Arkiv Vilmansa ‘Widya Segara’, a solo exhibition by Bandung-based contemporary artist Arkiv Vilmansa, and the Design Forum ‘Idea to Invention’ on October 11–12, featuring conferences and panel discussions.
The biennale will also host the UNESCO Cities of Design Subnetwork Meeting 2025 in a hybrid format, bringing together members of UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network.
The closing program on October 25, Lembah Riang ‘Back to Nature’, will feature outdoor activities such as light camping and yoga, emphasizing the connection between creativity, people, and the environment.
JNE, the official logistics partner of the biennale, is supporting the event beyond operations by collaborating with Tab Space, a Bandung-based design studio led by neurodivergent artists and people with disabilities.
