Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson recently shared details about a health scare that left him unconscious on a plane, leading to the postponement of his much-anticipated fight against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. The 58-year-old boxing legend, known for his resilience in the ring, revealed that stomach issues triggered by unhealthy eating habits were behind the incident.
On May 26, 2024, Tyson experienced intense nausea and dizziness during a flight, eventually passing out due to a stomach condition. Once the plane landed, he required assistance in a wheelchair and was promptly taken for further medical evaluation.
The health setback temporarily halted Tyson’s training regimen, ultimately pushing back his fight with Jake Paul, initially scheduled for July 20, 2024.
For months, the nature of Tyson’s condition remained a mystery, with only limited details citing “stomach issues.” Recently, however, Tyson explained he had strayed from his usual disciplined diet, consuming unhealthy foods that exacerbated his stomach problems.
“I was eating too much junk food and got really sick,” Tyson admitted in an interview with Mail Online on November 4, 2024. “Now, I’m eating raw meat because my opponent (Jake Paul) is going to end up as raw meat,” he quipped, hinting at his intensified preparation for the rescheduled fight.
Set to take place on November 15, 2024, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Tyson and Paul’s matchup is no exhibition bout. It’s a sanctioned professional boxing event, marking Tyson’s official return to the ring since his retirement in 2005.
The upcoming fight has stirred significant excitement among boxing fans and serves as a comeback moment for Tyson, who last stepped into the ring nearly two decades ago.

Despite the recent health setback, Tyson is back in training, determined to be in peak form for his showdown with Paul. Fans eagerly await to see if Tyson, even at 58, can bring the same intensity and skill that defined his career and captivated boxing enthusiasts worldwide.
