Denpasar – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno met with 24 communities in Bali to discuss issues related to environmental sustainability.

Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno met communities to discuss issues related to quality and environmentally sustainable tourism in Netas activities: Community Meeting at Café Stuja Sanur, Tuesday (5/16/2023).

Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno during the Netas activity: Community Meeting which was attended by 75 participants from 24 communities at Café Stuja Sanur, Tuesday (5/16/2023) explained that the Government always listens to the aspirations of all elements of society including the community to convey input, especially related to quality and environmentally sustainable tourism.

“Starting from the aspects of waste management, the use of new renewable energy, to the creation of Bali which is expected to be in accordance with the issue of environmental sustainability and supporting tourism products. This also includes mangrove planting which turns out to be a high interest from tourists,” he said.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy had heard input from the Sungaiwatch Community regarding community behavior to manage household waste, such as eco enzymes which turned out to be able to reduce 60 percent of organic waste.

“I appreciate Sungaiwatch through its movement to encourage people to manage waste better. Let us reduce and manage our waste better in the future,” he said.

Sandiaga believes that sectors related to the green economy will be able to open up business opportunities and employment.

“Earlier I also told you that companies that focus on environmental sustainability have a bright future and Bali can become the center of Indonesia’s green economy in the future,” he said.

Accompanying Menparekraf Sandiaga on the occasion were Special Staff of Menparekraf for Tourism Destination Security and Strategic Issues of Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf, Brigadier General Ario Prawiseso, Head of Communication Bureau of Kemenprekraf/Baparekraf I Gusti Ayu Dewi Hendriyani, and Head of Bali Province Tourism Office, Tjok Bagus Pemayun.
