Jakarta – The Ministry of Social Affairs is cooperative in fulfilling the request of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators, who conducted a search of the Directorate General of Social Empowerment, related to corruption in the distribution of rice social assistance for Beneficiary Families (KPM) of the 2020 Family Hope Program (PKH).
This was conveyed by the Special Staff of the Minister of Social Affairs for Mass Media Communication, Don Rozano Sigit, through his written statement, Tuesday (5/23/2023).
According to Don, KPK investigators have met Social Minister Tri Rismaharini and explained their intentions and objectives to conduct searches at the Directorate General of Social Empowerment, which are suspected of being related to the case.
“We welcome and we corporately fulfill the requests made by the investigating team from the KPK,” said Don.
The search of the Secretary’s room of the Directorate General of Social Empowerment was carried out starting Tuesday (5/23), at 10:00-18:00 WIB.
The sudden arrival of KPK investigators in the lobby of the Ministry of Social Affairs coincided with the time of the daily meeting and briefing of the Social Minister and his staff.
From the information of KPK’s arrival, Minister of Social Affairs Risma held a meeting with the investigators and invited them to carry out their activities. After conducting the search, KPK investigators had time to say goodbye to Social Minister Risma.
The activities carried out were in the form of collecting a number of documents and evidence related to the rice social assistance corruption incident during the leadership of Social Minister Juliari Batubara.
Don said that despite these activities, the routine that took place at the Ministry of Social Affairs was not disturbed at all.
“Everything is going well. This means that there was no notification at the beginning, but then everything went well,” said Don.
Don emphasized that Social Minister Risma always directs her staff to maintain integrity in the implementation of government and not to cover up or coordinate anything.
Don added, no one from the Ministry of Social Affairs was taken by the KPK to conduct the search. However, from the results of these activities, a number of evidence such as notebooks and cellphones were secured.
The alleged corruption case of rice social assistance for KPM PKH in 2020-2021 at the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs has been investigated by the KPK. As a result, the KPK named a number of suspects, one of which was the former President Director of BUMN Bhanda Ghara Reksa (BGR) Logistics Kuncoro Wibowo.
