Banten, Indonesia Sentinel – Deputy Minister of Trade, Jerry Sambuaga, accompanied by Acting Director General of Consumer Protection and Trade Order, Moga Simatupang, secured unregulated motor vehicle lubricant products worth Rp16.5 billion in three warehouse locations in Tangerang City, Banten Province, Monday (17/4/2023).
The Deputy Minister of Trade said that the illegal lubricant products allegedly did not meet the regulations by not having a Product Certificate for the Use of the Indonesian National Standard Mark (SPPT SNI), Goods Registration Number (NPB) and Registered Lubricant Number (NPT).
The Deputy Minister of Trade added that the Ministry of Trade has temporarily secured lubricant products that do not meet the provisions. The follow-up to the security is then carried out a law enforcement process in accordance with applicable laws and regulations so that there is a deterrent effect for business actors to produce lubricants in accordance with applicable regulations.
The supervision and security of lubricant products was witnessed by representatives of the Ministry of Industry; Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources; Jampidsus and Jamintel of the Attorney General’s Office and Banten High Prosecutor’s Office. In addition, the Indonesian National Police (Bareskrim, Dit. Certain Crimes, PPNS Korwas Bureau, Corruption Prevention Task Force, Banten Police, Tangerang City Police), Jaya 1 Military Police Detachment; Banten Provincial Industry and Trade Office; Tangerang City Disperindag; as well as business actors and the Indonesian Lubricants Association (ASPELINDO).
