Kediri, IndonesiaSentinel.com — A mother in Kediri, East Java, has reportedly killed her two children, M. Balya, 14, and Binti Nadhiroh, 17, in a shocking case of domestic violence. The incident occurred while the victims and their father were asleep. The mother, who allegedly suffers from mental health issues, attacked her children, leading to their deaths.
The family resides in Manisrenggo, a neighborhood in Kediri City. Upon arriving at the scene, Kediri City Police forensic investigators discovered severe head injuries on both victims. Authorities believe a machete, found at the scene, was used in the attack.
Kediri City Police Chief Investigator, Iptu Fathur Rozikin, confirmed that the weapon was confiscated and that the victims’ bodies were taken to Bhayangkara Kediri Hospital for autopsy.
A local resident, Suparwanto, stated that the mother has a history of mental illness, which may have triggered the violent episode.
The parents have been taken into custody by Kediri City Police for further questioning as the investigation continues.
