Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — POCO Indonesia has announced that it will officially close its website, po.co.id, by the end of 2024, marking the end of a significant chapter for the brand in the country. In a notice labeled “Important Announcement” on its website, this Chinese-based smartphone company explained that all content from its site would be moved and integrated into the Mi Store platform.
The company confirmed that the shutdown would be phased, with the first major step occurring on October 21, 2024, when the site will no longer support transactions. By December 31, 2024, both the POCO Indonesia website and its app will be permanently closed.
Although POCO Indonesia has not provided an in-depth explanation for the closure, the website mentioned that the decision to merge with Mi Store aims to offer “a more complete and diverse experience” for customers.
Starting from October 21, 2024, customers will no longer be able to shop via POCO Indonesia’s website or app. Instead, POCO is encouraging users to transition their shopping activity to Mi Store. All POCO coupons and coins held by customers will be automatically transferred to Mi Store by December 12, 2024, retaining their value and validity for purchasing the same products.
According to the notice, “The value and validity of your coupons and coins will remain the same, allowing you to shop for the same products as before.”
In addition to coupons and coins, POCO assured customers that all purchase histories, including shipping addresses, return requests, customer support records, and product reviews, will also be transferred to Mi Store by the same date.
For customers concerned about warranties, POCO Indonesia reassured buyers that all products purchased will still be covered under warranty, and after-sales service will continue to be provided through Xiaomi.
“We are committed to continuously delivering the best products and services while protecting your consumer rights in accordance with applicable laws,” POCO stated on its official page.
This move is not exclusive to Indonesia. POCO has confirmed that its global and regional websites, including those for the UK and France, will also close by the same date, aligning with the broader strategy to consolidate operations under Mi Store.
With the website closure approaching, POCO fans will need to adjust to the new shopping experience through Mi Store, as the transition aims to streamline services under one umbrella, potentially offering a more efficient platform for customers.
