Bandung, IndonesiaSentinel.com — A representative of the Indonesian Bishops’ Conference (KWI) and spokesperson for the Committee on Pope Francis Visit, Father Thomas Ulun Ismoyo, emphasized that the Pope’s upcoming visit to Indonesia is a recognition of the country’s status as a miniature of global diversity and tolerance.
“This visit is a testament to the world’s acknowledgment of Indonesia’s ability to maintain harmony within diversity. He further noted that in the global context, religious tolerance often becomes a sensitive issue, particularly in countries with highly diverse populations. However, Indonesia has managed to demonstrate that differences are not obstacles but rather treasures that must be nurtured and respected.
