Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto visited Denpasar, Bali, on Saturday (Sept. 13, 2025) to assess recovery efforts following flash floods that swept through the island earlier in the week. He was accompanied by Bali Governor Wayan Koster and several senior officials.
Prabowo has instructed the head of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), Suharyanto, to lead emergency operations in response to the disaster. The directive was issued shortly after the floods struck on Wednesday.
BNPB spokesperson Abdul Muhari said waters in most affected areas have begun to recede. “The situation in Bali is starting to stabilize and come under control,” he noted. Current efforts are focused on locating missing victims, clearing debris, and draining floodwater, including in the basement of Badung Market.
