Pope Francis departed the Vatican Embassy at around 9:10 AM local time, greeted by a crowd that had been waiting since dawn. Emotional cries and calls for Pope Francis echoed as the pontiff approached.
Traveling in a Toyota Innova Zenix with license plate SCV 1, Pope Francis took the time to greet and bless the faithful, particularly the children who had gathered early to see him.

The Pope is en route to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Banten, where he will board a flight to Papua New Guinea’s Port Moresby, with an estimated arrival at 6:50 PM local time.
Following his visit to Indonesia, he will continue his apostolic trip to Port Moresby and Vanimo in Papua New Guinea from September 6 to 9, then to Dili in Timor-Leste from September 9 to 11, and Singapore from September 11 to 13, 2024.
