Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Coca-Cola has officially announced the return of its fan-favorite Coca-Cola Lime and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Lime to shelves in Great Britain. The relaunch marks a significant addition to the brand’s growing portfolio of flavored colas, which has seen increasing consumer demand in recent years.

A Nostalgic Return

Originally launched in 2005, Coca-Cola Lime was discontinued in 2007. Its zero-sugar counterpart managed to stick around a bit longer before being shelved in 2018. Now, both variants are back, bringing a refreshing twist to the classic cola lineup.

The relaunch comes in several formats:

  • Lime: Available in 330ml cans, 500ml bottles, 1.75L bottles, and 8x330ml multipacks.
  •  Sugar Lime: Offered in 500ml bottles, 2L bottles, and 8x330ml multipacks.

Currently, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Lime is exclusively sold at Tesco stores until the end of March, after which it will expand to other major UK retailers.

Riding the Flavored Cola Trend

The return of Coca-Cola Lime follows the successful relaunch of Coca-Cola Lemon last year, which generated nearly £20 million in value sales. The flavored cola category has been growing faster than the overall cola market, indicating strong consumer interest in innovative, tangy options.

“Following the hugely popular relaunch of new flavors last year, we’re excited to continue to expand our flavors portfolio with the launch of the Lime,” said Charlotte Walsham, Coca-Cola’s senior brand manager. “Fans of Coca-Cola will be able to enjoy their favorite original taste, now with a refreshing tangy citrus twist.”

Rob Yeomans, Vice President of Commercial Development at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) GB, highlighted the business potential of flavored colas. “Flavored colas are growing ahead of the total cola segment as consumers look for new twists on their favorite drinks. This sub-segment presents a real opportunity for retailers to drive incremental growth,” Yeomans stated.

Retail Availability and Consumer Response

The newly relaunched Lime and Zero Sugar Lime have already started appearing in stores such as Tesco, Asda, and FarmFoods. Early reactions from customers have been overwhelmingly positive, with social media users expressing excitement over the full-sugar version.

“Building on the success of Coca-Cola Lemon, Coca-Cola Lime will give consumers another refreshing option in the growing flavored colas segment, with a tangy, bittersweet taste,” the company said.

Coca-Cola’s renewed focus on flavored colas signals the brand’s intent to capture evolving consumer preferences. With ongoing investments in product innovation and marketing campaigns, Coca-Cola Lime is poised to contribute to the company’s growth in 2025 and beyond.
