Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — A multi-vehicle accident occurred on Jakarta’s inner-city toll road, involving six vehicles that sustained significant damage on Friday, December 13, 2024. Authorities reported that the crash left multiple vehicles severely damaged and caused major traffic disruptions.
AKBP Ojo Ruslani, Head of Traffic Law Enforcement at the Metro Jaya Police Department, confirmed the extent of the damages.
“The vehicles experienced serious damage. The front and rear sections of a Mobilio were smashed, the Hyundai Ioniq 5’s rear was broken, the Mayasari car had front-end damage, the Inova suffered damage to both front and back sections, the box truck was damaged at the front, and the Alphard vehicle sustained front and back-end damage,” Ojo informed journalists on Friday.
Photos shared by the Metro Jaya Police on their social media platform X (@TMCPoldaMetro) show the extent of the damage. The rear of a Toyota Avanza and an Alphard were crushed, while the front sections of a bus and a box truck appeared severely damaged. Fortunately, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 seemed relatively unscathed.
Around 09:49 WIB, authorities temporarily closed part of the toll road to address the crash incident near Km 00.100 Cawang, in the direction heading toward Halim.
“The contra flow section of the toll road is currently closed due to accident management operations in this area,” stated @TMCPoldaMetro.

Due to the accident near Km 00.100 on the Cawang to Halim route, traffic congestion extended back to the Kuningan toll area. Drivers are advised to exercise caution while navigating through this area and seek alternative routes if possible.
Police officers are already on-site, working to clear the scene and restore traffic flow. Authorities continue to urge motorists to remain vigilant and cautious in the affected area.
