Jakarta – Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan hopes that Indonesia can be recognized as an exporter of high-tech services. This is because high-tech services are instrumental in facilitating and expediting business and trade activities in the future.

Currently, there is a company that provides trusted digital identity services and legally binding digital signatures using digital certificates known as PrivyID.

The company is the first digital certificate provider to be recognized by the Ministry of Communication and Information.

“Through PrivyID, Indonesia can be recognized not only as a commodity exporter, but also as an exporter of high-tech services. The inauguration of PrivyID’s first overseas office today is a success story of Indonesia’s service export to Australia,” said Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan as quoted in a press release received on Monday (3/7/2023).

In order to realize this, the Ministry of Trade has long supported PrivyID through the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA CEPA) with the Katalis program. Katalis is a unique trade and investment development program supported by the government to unlock the great potential of economic partnership between Indonesia and Australia.

Today, PrivyID is one of the most advanced digital companies in Indonesia with 30 million users. For Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan, Sydney is the right city for PrivyID to establish its first international branch.

“Sydney has the largest economy in Australia and is a hub that is closely integrated with the global economy. This fact provides a great opportunity for PrivyID to continue to grow and go global,” added the Minister.

According to the Minister, PrivyID is not just a digital signature service provider, but also a symbol of the entrepreneurial spirit and innovation of young Indonesians. The number of PrivyID users is even greater than the entire Australian population of 26 million.

In response, PrivyID President Director Marshall Pribadi expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Trade’s support to PrivyID.

“We are very happy and proud of the Ministry of Trade‘s support to the work of the nation’s children. We hope this business can grow even more in the future,” Marshall said.
