Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Google has introduced Doppl, a new AI-based app that allows users to virtually try on outfits using digital versions of themselves. The app, developed by Google Labs, aims to help users visualize how clothing would look on their bodies, making it easier to explore and refine their personal style.
“We’re introducing Doppl, an experimental new app from Google Labs to help you visualize how an outfit will look on you and explore your style,” said Sakshi Rambhia, Product Manager at Google Labs, in a company blog post. “Virtual try-on with Doppl makes it fun and easy to see any piece of clothing on a digital, animated version of yourself.”
The app builds on technology unveiled earlier this year in Google Shopping, which enabled users to virtually try on billions of clothing items. Doppl takes that a step further by allowing users to upload photos or screenshots of clothing items, whether spotted in a store, on a friend, or in a social media post, and see how the outfit would look on them.
One of Doppl’s standout features is its AI-generated video capability, which transforms static images into dynamic visuals, offering a more lifelike preview of how an outfit moves and fits.
“Just upload a photo of an outfit, and Doppl takes care of the rest,” said Rambhia.

Users can also save their favorite looks or share them with friends and followers. While the app offers a glimpse into the future of AI in fashion, Google cautions that Doppl is still in its early experimental phase, and certain details, such as clothing fit or texture may not always be fully accurate.
“Google Labs is our home for the latest experimental AI products,” Rambhia added. “Your feedback is essential in helping us shape its future.”
Doppl is currently available to iOS and Android users in the United States. There is no word yet on when the app will launch in other markets, including Indonesia.
