Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel – Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas asked all State Civil Apparatus of the Ministry of Religious Affairs to maintain neutrality in the political year, 2024.

The new general election will be held in February 2024. The Indonesian people will elect a President and Vice President. Representatives of the people will also be elected. However, he said, political issues are currently being discussed by the public.

“I would like to remind all of us that this political year has begun. Political escalation has also begun to increase in intensity. I ask all of you not to be affected,” said Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut in Jakarta, Friday (28/4/2023).

“There is no need to participate in the political currents that are happening. I don’t want any of you as State Civil Apparatus to get into trouble because of this political year,” he continued.

The Election Supervisory Agency (BAWASLU), he said, will conduct stricter supervision of State Civil Apparatus involved in practical politics. The Minister of Religious Affairs hopes that no problems related to this will befall the State Civil Apparatus of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

“I do not want any records involving the State Civil Apparatus of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Because it will be a bad record for the future,” he said. (Photo Humas Kemenag/InfoPublik.id)
