Yogyakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) inaugurated the Digital Transformation Building (GTD) at the Multi Media College (STMM) campus in Sleman, Yogyakarta, on Friday, October 11, 2024. This building was completed after a 10-month construction phase.

Head of the Kominfo Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM), Hary Budiarto, revealed that the building’s construction cost Rp 85 billion, drawn from the 2023 and 2024 budgets.

“The building uses two budgets from 2023 and 2024, with a total cost of Rp 85 billion. It spans 9,363 square meters,” Hary stated.

The GTD’s design consists of two structures: a four-story building and a six-story building, symbolizing the left and right hemispheres of the human brain.

“The left side of the building represents serious academic spaces, while the right side is designed for creativity,” Hary explained. He added that classrooms are flexible, with spaces for learning both indoors and outdoors, including on the rooftop with views of Mount Merapi.

Inspired by international digital campuses in Detroit and Nanyang University, the building blends modern and classic architectural styles to match the local cultural landscape.
