Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Recent sightings of mysterious drones in New Jersey skies have left residents unsettled, sparking a wave of conspiracy theories. Local authorities, including the FBI, are scrambling to confirm what residents are seeing and where the drones originate.
According to CNN Indonesia, Residents have reported drones as large as small cars flying in the night sky, sometimes appearing in coordinated groups. The sightings have primarily been reported in Morris and Somerset counties, part of the greater New York metropolitan area.
“We have received reports from the public and law enforcement over the past few weeks,” the FBI’s Newark field office said in a statement on December 3, as reported by CNN.
The mysterious drones have not only been spotted by residents. The U.S. Coast Guard, under the Department of Homeland Security, also confirmed one of its assets encountered the unmanned aircraft.
White House Response
John Kirby, a spokesperson for the White House’s National Security Council, addressed the issue, saying many reported sightings were drones operating legally. Kirby emphasized that, so far, there is no evidence suggesting the drones pose a threat to national security, public safety, or involve any foreign entities.
However, the lack of concrete explanations has left New Jersey residents frustrated.
“You see red and green lights, like blinking lights at the corners. Then, they just change direction, like from 90 degrees to 270 degrees, flying in completely different directions,” said one New Jersey resident. “Planes clearly can’t do that.”
Conspiracy Theories Abound
The unexplained drone activity has given rise to a flood of conspiracy theories. Among the most prominent is the revival of “Project Blue Beam,” a decades-old theory alleging a secret operation to create a new global order through staged supernatural events.
Roseanne Barr, an entertainer and vocal supporter of President-elect Donald Trump, drew attention to the theory in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Now you all understand why I mention Project Blue Beam every week on my podcast.” The post, viewed over two million times, fueled further speculation.
Prominent conspiracy theorist Alex Jones also weighed in, sharing past interviews with UFOlogist Steven Greer that discussed the alleged use of Project Blue Beam.
What is Project Blue Beam?
The theory of Project Blue Beam originated in the 1990s, proposed by Canadian journalist Serge Monast, who died in 1996. It claims that global elites are conspiring to establish a totalitarian world government by orchestrating a series of staged celestial or supernatural events using advanced technology, allegedly from NASA.
Proponents of the theory initially claimed it would launch in 1995, later revising the timeline to 1996, and then to the turn of the millennium after Monast’s death.
According to the theory, the project involves several phases:
- Global earthquakes: Artificially induced to “discover” artifacts that disprove existing religious beliefs.
- Holographic projections: Simulations of divine figures appearing in the skies, customized to regional religious faiths, followed by a “unifying god” addressing humanity.
- Mind control technology: Manipulating people’s thoughts to simulate divine communication or an alien invasion, creating mass hysteria and enabling authoritarian control.

While the sightings have sparked curiosity and alarm, experts suggest the drones are likely legal aircraft or commercial UAVs. For now, law enforcement and federal agencies continue to investigate the sighting of the mysterious drones, though residents remain skeptical until more definitive answers are provided.
