Nusa Dua, InfoPublik – The era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) or artificial intelligence technology has begun in a number of broadcasters in several countries. The technology is considered capable of producing interesting content and high economic value.

Although Artificial Intelligence is a new technology in broadcasting, government regulations and broadcasting codes of ethics must still be the basis for its application.

This was revealed by broadcasting technology consultant Amal Punchihewa during the 18th Asia Media Summit 2023 in Nusa Dua, Bali, Tuesday (23/5/2023).

In terms of effectiveness, he explained, AI technology is more effective and efficient, because it can cover all fields.

In addition, the technology is also more economical for software updates for the broadcasting industry.

Nevertheless, Amal emphasized that government regulations, broadcasting code of ethics and sustainability principles must be the basis for its implementation.

Amal also believes that the fatality factor in the technology must also be taken into account.

Meanwhile, Artificial Intelligence Technology Consultant at the International Telecommunication Union, Andy Quested, also sees AI technology as highly desirable.

The technology is used by various broadcasters in the UK to produce such as sports news, music and entertainment.

However, considering the fatality rate, he hopes that the technology should only be used as a complement to the broadcasting industry, not the main one.

Broadcasters are starting to look at the technology because it is more economical, does not require a lot of human resources, and is interesting in terms of content for viewers to see.

The 18th Asia Media Summit 2023 in Bali, held from May 21 to 25, 2023, was attended by more than 300 delegates from various Asia-Pacific media.

Delegates from various professions, such as parliamentarians, CEOs, and decision-makers from various parts of the world came to attend this annual conference.

The conference invited decision-makers, media professionals, scholars, and news and program stakeholders from Asia, the Pacific, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. (Photo: Amiriyandi/InfoPublik)
