Bali Weather Forecast: Cloudy-Light Rain during New Year’s Eve Celebrations

Bali, Indonesia Sentinel — The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has released its weather forecast for New Year’s Eve on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. BMKG predicts weather conditions in Bali, with rainfall ranging from light-heavy intensity and cloudy across several regions.

The BMKG Regional Office III in Denpasar forecasts light rain across parts of the island during the transition from 2024 to 2025. According to BMKG analysis, rainfall on New Year’s Eve will mainly affect western and central Bali, with other areas expected to have milder conditions.

Reported from Merdeka, BMKG Meteorologist Luh Eka Arisanti highlight that light to heavy rain is expected on Tuesday (December 31) afternoon and early evening, covering most areas of Bali.

Light rain during New Year’s Eve primarily were predicted in central and western Bali. Meanwhile southern, eastern, and northern Bali will generally experience cloudy conditions.

Regions most likely to experience light rain during New Year’s Eve include :

  • Jembrana Regency
  • Parts of Tabanan Regency
  • Northern Badung Regency
  • Northern Bangli Regency

While, other regions are expected to remain generally cloudy, tourists and residents planning outdoor activities during New Year’s celebrations are urged to remain alert and keep on updated about the weather conditions.

BMKG has also issued an early warning for the week ahead. From December 31, 2024, to January 6, 2025, moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by lightning and strong winds, is expected across Bali and the East Nusa Tenggara region.
