Bandung, IndonesiaSentinel.com — Chester Bennington Son, Jamie Bennington, criticized his late father’s band for appointing a new vocalist, said to be a betrayal to the fans trust in the band. Linkin Park has sparked backlash amongst fans, unexpectedly one coming from late vocalist Sons.
Recently, Emily Armstrong was officially announced by Linkin Park as its new vocalist, replacing the late Chester Bennington since his death in 2017 by suicide. The announcement has gained backlash online, while the main reason is the band’s decision to appoint Emily Armstrong, who had history with Scientology Church.
Many disapprovals come from the band fans, among them Chester Bennington son’s, Jamie Bennington. He criticized the band via an Instagram post on Monday, writing in a story post claiming that Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda had betrayed the trust of the fans.
He wrote some statements highliting Emily Armstrong’s past ties with the Scientology, as well as her support for Danny Masterson, a fellow Scientology convicted of sexual assault. Jamie speaks as Linkin Park fans confused about the band choosing someone like Emily as the new singer.

The Scientology labeled as a cult had many controversies as a criminal organization that engages in human and child trafficking, child and elder abuse, and the coverups of countless sexual assaults on children and adults, which is what the late vocalist of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, is fighting for.
Jamie said that Mike had “quietly erased my father’s life and legacy in real time… during international suicide prevention month.”
He added that Linkin Park has failed to address the concerns of their diverse fan base and that the music group’s recent actions are not something people should acclimate to. He said that the band had “betrayed the trust” of the fanbase, who “trusted you to be the bigger, better person. To be the change. Because you promised us that was your intention.”
“Now you’re just senile and tone deaf”, said Chester Bennington Son to Mike.
Recently, Emily has written a statement on her Instagram story meant to “clear the air” about her support for Masterson.
“I was asked to support someone I considered a friend at a court appearance, and went to one early hearing as an observer. Soon after, I realized I shouldn’t have,” she wrote, adding that she hasn’t connected with Masterson since. “To say it as clearly as possible: I do not condone abuse or violence against women, and I empathize with the victims of these crimes,” she said.
