Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — A French inventor has developed a unique solution to the unpleasant smell of Fart. Christian Poincheval, known for tackling unconventional problems, has created a pill that claims to transform the foul smell of Fart into the sweet scent of chocolate.
The idea was inspired by an awkward dinner with friends in 2006. After an unfortunate bout of gas at a public restaurant, he realized just how disruptive the odor could be to others. Embarrassed by the discomfort it caused nearby diners, he resolved to find a solution.
By 2007, he began researching and experimenting with natural ingredients. He eventually creating the Pilule Pet, or a “Fart Pill” a dietary supplement designed to combat foul-smelling gas. The Pilule Pet was made from a blend of plant-based ingredients such as activated charcoal, fennel, seaweed, plant resin, bilberry, and cocoa shavings.
Poincheval says the product is designed to reduce odor, gas, and bloating without relying on pharmaceutical chemicals. “We wanted to offer a natural, chemical-free solution to help people feel more comfortable,” Poincheval said.

Before launching the chocolate-scented version, Poincheval had already released rose- and violet-scented pills. All of his products are marketed as natural dietary supplements.
The chocolate variant quickly became a customer favorite, particularly during the holiday season. Many buyers use the pill not only to manage gas odor but also as a novelty gift for friends and family.
In addition to pills for humans, Poincheval also developed a specialized powder designed to reduce fart odor in pets. This demonstrating that the innovation extends beyond people use, as it reaches into the animal care industry.
Sold online, the pills have gained popularity and gone viral on social media, thanks in part to their quirky concept and Poincheval’s creative marketing. While some experts remain skeptical about the pill’s effectiveness, the idea has captured public interest.
