Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — The Indonesian government has officially implemented new passport fees, following the enactment of Government Regulation No. 45 of 2024. After being in transition period for 60-day, the regulation is set to take effect on all immigration office across Indonesia starting from 17 Desember 2024.
The regulation was signed by President Joko Widodo on October 18, 2024, just two days before the end of his term. The passport fees adjustment aim to provide responsive services aligned with citizens needs while supporting a modern, faster, and more professional immigration service.
Additionally, the policy addresses increasing public demands for improved services and enhances transparency in the issuance of official travel documents. Therefore, the new passport fees adjustment offer greater flexibility for citizens to choose the type of passport that best suits their travel needs
The revised fees cover various passport types, including non-electronic and electronic passports with validity periods of five or ten years, as well as expedited same-day passport services.
According to DetikFinance, here is the New Passport Fees outlined in the regulations:
- Non-Electronic Passport Valid for up to 5 years : Rp350,000 per application
- Non-Electronic Passport Valid for up to 10 years : Rp650,000 per application
- Electronic Passport Valid for up to 5 years : Rp650,000 per application
- Electronic Passport Valid for up to 10 years : Rp950,000 per application
- Travel Document in Lieu of Passport for Indonesian Citizens: Rp100,000 per application
- Travel Document in Lieu of Passport for Foreign Nationals: Rp150,000 per application
- Expedited Same-Day Passport Service: Rp1,000,000 per application, in addition to standard issuance fees

Fees for lost or damaged passports remain unchanged. A replacement for a lost passport costs Rp1,000,000 per book, while damaged passports incur a fee of Rp500,000 per book.
The government assures that the updated fees, which took effect on December 17, 2024, will maintain optimal and efficient service standards across all immigration offices in Indonesia.
