Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Indonesian digital identity verification provider Verihubs has unveiled its latest AI-powered Deepfake Detection technology to combat the rising threat of identity fraud driven by increasingly sophisticated generative AI tools.
The new technology is designed to detect and prevent identity fraud attempts that utilize manipulated images or videos, which often evade conventional detection methods.
Deepfake Fraud
Verihubs’ Deepfake Detection technology offers enhanced protection against identity fraud threats posed by generative AI (GenAI), including facial manipulation and forged documents. The technology has earned international recognition through certifications from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
These certifications include the Face Recognition Testing Environment (FRTE) for both 1:1 and 1:N verification categories, achieving an impressive 99.95% accuracy rate. Additionally, Verihubs holds certification in FATE Presentation Attack Detection (PAD), which ensures reliable differentiation between genuine biometrics and artifacts like photos, videos, or 2D/3D masks.
“This innovation represents a significant milestone in ensuring customer trust during the digital transformation era,” said CEO of Verihubs Rick Firnando, in a statement on December 13, as reported by Detik Net.
“Our Deepfake Detection technology empowers businesses to safeguard themselves against digital fraud threats, laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth in the future.”
Comprehensive e-KYC Solutions
In addition to Deepfake Detection, Verihubs offers a range of e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) services, including:
- Face Recognition for real-time facial verification
- Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for automated data extraction from identity documents
“Our technology performs in-depth analysis of videos and images to ensure the highest level of security during the e-KYC process,” said Head of AI at Verihubs, Brahmastro Kernaraman. “We continuously monitor, research, and test our systems to stay ahead of the rapidly advancing deepfake technologies.”
