Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — President Prabowo Subianto officially launched the theme and logo for Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day during a ceremony at the State Palace on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

“With the words Bismillah, I hereby officially launch the theme and logo for the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia,” Prabowo said during the nationally broadcast event, which was livestreamed on the Presidential Secretariat’s official YouTube channel.

The new logo features a minimalist design displaying the number “80” in Indonesia’s signature red and white color scheme. Symbolically, the intertwined figures of 8 and 0 form an unbroken loop, representing the concept of infinity.

According to Prabowo, this conveys the idea of a unified and advanced Indonesia one where unity serves as the foundation of national sovereignty and the realization of collective prosperity. The symbol also reflects the country’s long-term vision: Indonesia Maju (Advanced Indonesia), a goal set for the nation’s centennial in 2045.

The logo also incorporates two cylindrical shapes embedded within each digit, symbolizing “two shared cores”: unity and sovereignty. In addition, the bold red outer lines of the numbers 8 and 0 represent “the path to people’s prosperity”.

“This design is a creation of the nation’s youth, a unifying symbol for all Indonesians,” Prabowo explained.

The logo was selected through a nationwide design competition organized by the Ministry of State Secretariat, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and the Indonesian Graphic Designers Association (ADGI), held from May 23 to June 1.
