Bandung – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) is consistently committed to supporting the acceleration of equitable digitalization in the education sector in all regions of Indonesia, especially the 3T (Outermost, Frontier, and Disadvantaged) areas.
Telkom’s commitment was realized through the provision of digital learning facility packages to various schools and foundations in the 3T area some time ago. Telkom seeks to reach a number of areas that are still untouched by digital technology as well as the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals 4 program, namely Quality Education.
Telkom reached the nearest 3T area located in the West Java region. There are more than 70 madrasah schools in West Java that received assistance, including 5 locations in Bandung Regency, 10 locations in West Bandung Regency, 11 locations in Ciamis Regency, and 11 locations in Garut Regency.
In addition, Telkom also provided assistance in 4 locations in Kuningan Regency, 18 locations in Sukabumi Regency, and 11 locations in Sumedang Regency. Each school and foundation received computer equipment, projectors, and internet modems.
Through this program, the target of equal distribution of education digitization for 3T areas, especially rural areas throughout Indonesia, is expected to be achieved so that students can grow into digitally literate individuals.
In addition, learning activities can be more fun and varied through the use of the internet network for students and teachers. This is in line with the Merdeka Belajar policy of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research Technology which encourages all parties to collaborate through various facilities and facilities, including ICT-based learning facilities, as well as a form of Telkom’s commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG).
Senior General Manager of Telkom’s Community Development Center, Hery Susanto said that school digitalization is one way to improve the quality of education in Indonesia.
“Telkom hopes that through this digital learning facility assistance program, it can provide easy access to learning for students through the use of digital technology,” said Hery.
Telkom is committed to providing added value to the people of Indonesia, both directly through business activities and indirectly through Social and Environmental Empowerment (PSL) activities.
This is in line with the company’s goal, which is to realize a more prosperous and competitive nation and provide the best added value for stakeholders, Hery concluded.
