Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — The Recording Academy announced the winners of the 67th annual Grammy Awards, the music industry’s most prestigious honors, during a star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday night, February 2, 2025.
Winners of the 2025 Grammy Awards were selected through voting by more than 13,000 Recording Academy members, including musicians, producers, and songwriters.
Members were allowed to vote in up to 10 categories across three different genres, such as rock, classical, and R&B, based on their expertise. They also cast ballots for six major awards: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Songwriter of the Year, and Producer of the Year.
Beyoncé finally secured the Grammy Awards’ top honor, winning Album of the Year for “Cowboy Carter.” Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar dominated the night, taking home five awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for his track “Not Like Us.” The victory marked Lamar’s entry into an elite group of rappers with more than 20 Grammy wins, joining Ye and Jay-Z.
Two legendary rock bands also made headlines at the 2025 Grammy Awards. The Beatles won their first Grammy since 1997, earning Best Rock Performance for “Now and Then.” Meanwhile, The Rolling Stones clinched Best Rock Album for “Hackney Diamonds.”
Among new faces, Chappell Roan was named Best New Artist. Several other musicians also won their first Grammys this year, including Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, and rapper Doechii. Alicia Keys was honored with the Global Music Impact award.
