Bandung, IndonesiaSentinel.com — A prehistoric painting on the wall inside a cave appears to depicts some mysterious creatures, believed to be alien beings. This is the mystery of an alien painting discovered inside a cave in Papua, Indonesia.

The mysterious painting was discovered in the Kontilola Cave, located in the Baliem Valley of Papua’s mountainous region. At first glance, there seems to be nothing unusual about the Kontilola Cave. However, as you venture into its dark, spacious corridors, a mysterious prehistoric painting comes into sight.

Lying on the wall of the cave, there is a painting depicting four mysterious creatures. These figures resemble humans but are depicted with large and oval-shaped heads without hair and a little rounded ear. It has a humanlike body but is painted only with four fingers. Many have speculated that these paintings do not depict humans, but rather an alien being.

Adding to the mystery is the location of the painting, which is seemingly ubelievable. It is positioned very high, near the ceiling of the cave, which is several meters tall from the ground. The discovery of this alien painting inside a cave in Papua is intriguing, considering that prehistoric humans likely lacked the technology to paint in such a high and inaccessible spot.

The painting in Kontilola Cave is not the only prehistoric painting that is believed to depict alien-like beings. Similar alien paintings have been found on the rocks at Tanjung Bicari in Kaimana Regency, West Papua. The paintings on the cliffside at Tanjung Bicari also appear to depict strange creatures with large heads and three horns.

These findings deepen the mystery surrounding the creatures depicted in these prehistoric paintings. Both discoveries feature mysterious figures that are not typically seen in ancient artwork from other regions. Moreover, both paintings are located in high, hard-to-reach places, far beyond the reach of ordinary people.

Archaeological Insights on These Alien Paintings

In 2008, researchers from the Papua Archaeology Center conducted a study and revealed that the alien-like figures in these paintings are actually interpretations of the ancestors of the local communities.

According to the researchers, Kontilola Cave was once a refuge for prehistoric humans, who then depicted figures on the cave walls. These paintings are the result of early humans’ abstract interpretations and imaginations of their ancestors. The paintings were placed in high locations as a form of reverence.

Despite the explanation that the alien paintings are actually ancestral depictions, it does not diminish the mystery behind the creatures painted in the cave. There could be many more mysterious paintings that tell the untold story, hidden among the rocks inside the cave of Papua, waiting to be discovered.
