Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — A Florida-based cruise line is rolling out a unique travel opportunity for Americans seeking to leave the United States during the second term of President-elect Donald Trump. Villa Vie Residences has introduced its “Tour La Vie” program, offering passengers the chance to spend up to four years voyage sailing the globe, effectively providing an escape from U.S. soil.
The innovative program, launched aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey cruise ship, allows travelers to explore multiple long-term cruising options. “We designed this marketing campaign even before we knew who would win the election,” said CEO Mikael Petterson, as reported by the Independent. “No matter who emerges victorious, there will always be half the population left dissatisfied.”
Villa Vie’s Tour La Vie offers a range of extended voyage packages, including the one-year “Escape from Reality,” the two-year “Mid-Term Selection,” the three-year “Everywhere but Home,” and their newly launched four-year adventure called “Skip Forward.” This latest package promises an expansive journey spanning 140 countries across all seven continents.
Pricing for these lengthy voyages starts at $40,000 per year (approximately Rp633 million). For a single traveler embarking on the full four-year “Skip Forward” journey, the total cost is $256,000 (Rp4.6 billion), while a double-occupancy room is priced at $320,000 (Rp5.06 billion).
The itinerary for this unique four-year cruise begins with a month-long exploration of the Caribbean, followed by a four-month expedition through South America. Highlights include two transits of the Panama Canal, visits to two of the Seven Wonders of the World, scenic cruising along Chile’s fjords, a close encounter with Antarctica, the vibrant Rio Carnival, and an eight-day journey down the Amazon River.

Since announcing the program on November 7, Villa Vie Residences has seen a significant surge in inquiries, with many Americans reportedly considering leaving the country if former President Donald Trump secures a victory in the 2024 election.
Petterson emphasized that the cruise line’s intentions are not politically motivated but rather aimed at offering an alternative for those feeling disillusioned with the political climate. “The journeys we offer give passengers the flexibility to escape traffic congestion, politics, and the monotony of city life,” he added.
The cruise industry’s bold new offering taps into a growing trend of Americans looking for unconventional ways to distance themselves from domestic political turmoil, positioning Villa Vie Residences as a unique refuge during these uncertain times.
